On June 30, Heather Jeffrey transitioned out of her full‑time role at Acres for Life, closing a remarkable 20‑year chapter of service, leadership, and heart. Heather’s journey with Acres began as a volunteer and grew into roles that shaped nearly every part of the organization — horse care management, equine specialist, therapist, and ultimately COO. Her impact is woven into the fabric of Acres, from the programs she helped build to the countless clients whose healing she witnessed alongside the horses.
I am so grateful to have been able to join alongside Lynn 20 years ago as we grew Acres side by side, pulling together! Beginning as a volunteer and then moving into horse care management, becoming an equine specialist, and then going back to school to become a therapist, and in later years, taking on multiple roles as the COO, it has been an incredible adventure and I have learned so much!
I have also had the honor to meet so many amazing clients and witness their transformations thanks to the horses and nature and healing spaces of Acres. The Acres team is an amazing bunch of people and critters, with the volunteers, horse professionals, and therapists’ hearts and passion geared towards coming alongside folks and searching for hope and healing.
While my full-time role has transitioned in order to accommodate some other things in my life, I am so grateful to move onto the board and be able to continue to support Acres and the amazing work that is done here.
