Sponsor a Horse

Put simply, horses are large animals. Large animals = large costs. Sponsorships offer an opportunity to become involved with the community at Acres as well as helping with the costs of covering food, hay, veterinary care, farrier costs, and other monthly expenses related to horse care and other animal-related expenses.

Browse the horses below to sponsor, or donate to support our entire herd.

Every gift, no matter the shape or size, makes an impact on the lives of our animals who then help to transform the lives of our clients and further supports the sustainability that makes Acres all that it has become.

Sponsors are offered a unique opportunity to meet their sponsored horse and connect-given prior scheduling/confirmation (our horses have busy calendars!). Horse sponsorships can also be made in memory of or in honor of those we remember as well.

Our Horses

Annie

I am in my early twenties and was born on a premarin farm in Canada. I enjoy my days with my smaller friends in the pasture and appreciate the scratches by taller friends on my back! I have been described as having a strong presence.

Beau

I am around eighteen years old and joined the Acres herd following the passing of my beloved Karly. I am incredibly intelligent and love to play. Although I have been known to have a spunky personality, I have a loving kindness and huge heart

Bella

I am a survivor of a traumatic past where I developed a fear response that almost cost me my life. I was rescued by someone who spent countless hours showing me what safety feels like. I have since joined Acres and continue to be a calm presence with safe boundaries.

Belle

Belle came to us looking for a new job as she was not a huge fan of riding! She also had some additional healthcare needs coming up for her. She is a 22 year old bay mare. She has been diagnosed with Cushings/EMS. She is docile, sweet, calm, and Loves attention.

Blizzard

I love to hop into the horse trailer and look forward to my breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day and usually try to convince Heather to give me elevensies. I am easy-going and like to go with the flow.

Candy

Candy was a huge factor in terms of developing a young girl’s confidence. She also has experience as being a protective and loyal mom. Candy brings a sweet, gentle presence wherever she goes.

Gooch

I am in my late teens. I earned over a quarter million dollars in my previous career as a pacer. When I first came to Acres, I had a little bit of difficulty adjusting to a slower pace of life and all of the changes this brought. It was a challenge for me to switch into a new job and I’m learning day by day what this new life is like for me.

Joey

Joey came to Acres after retiring as a family show horse; even though he might have entered retirement, he still has plenty of energy to spare and loves romping around with his pasture mates. Be warned that he isn’t quite fond of boundaries as he absolutely loves people.

Lady K

I am about twelve years old and I was on track to be a race horse until I sustained an injury that ended my potential career. With a kind heart and love to give, I found my way to Acres and bring energy and spunk to the pasture.

May

May is a gentle Paint horse with a calm, steady presence and the sweetest sleepy eyes. Quiet but observant, she’s happiest with her best friend Red by her side. Her softness makes her a comforting partner in therapy.

Maybelle

Maybelle was a trail horse and gaming horse for many years and before that was a ranch horse out in South Dakota! She has striking blue eyes that require a special face mask to protect her sensitive eyes. Maybelle is a very sweet gal who loves neck scratches.

Munchie

I am in my early twenties and have moved around a lot in my life. I would often become scared of losing the connection to those I would grow attached to, assuming that I would be leaving soon. I now live in a stable and consistent herd and munch happily during my days.

Ole

I am a Norwegian Fjord Horse and am approximately 24 years old. I have helped many individuals with building their strength, confidence, and self-esteem. I have learned what the sound of the gator means and love to interact with others and ESPECIALLY love my pasture buddies.

Ozzie

I am 29 years old and I have lived on the Acres property for many years. I have had many babies that went on to the world of reining and earned quite a bit! I like to spend my days grazing and receiving neck scratches.

Pete

Pete comes to Acres after his family experienced an accident and could no longer give him the care and attention he needed and they wanted to provide him. He loves people! Your bubble is his bubble and his bubble is your bubble.

Red

Red is a Tennessee Walker with a heart full of curiosity and a soft spot for people. This playful guy is known for unzipping jackets and stealing hats — all in good fun. He’s a natural with kids and loves being part of the action.
