Experience traditional in-office counseling in a unique, nature-filled setting.   Here at Acres for Life you will find a group of passionate clinicians from the fields of drug and alcohol counseling, co-occurring disorders, clinical social work, professional counseling, and marriage and family therapy who are committed to helping those struggling with personal, emotional, marriage/relational or psychological problems.   We work with a variety of issues such as: depression, anxiety, anger, chemical dependency, co-occurring, reactive attachment, fetal alcoholism, eating disorders, self-harm, PTSD, loss and grief, co-occurring, and so many others.  We also have a licensed dietician on staff to help work through issues surrounding health, food, and eating disorders.  This more traditional approach may be used independently, or in conjunction with EAGALA Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.

We also offer: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is a psychotherapy tool that was created to alleviate distress associated with trauma or other adverse life experiences. EMDR is an evidence based approach that works quickly and efficiently, and is long lasting. This tool can be used in a traditional counseling setting or in conjunction with Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.  With any questions regarding EMDR, please contact our certified and licensed therapist, Anna Grimm at: agrimm@acresforlife.org
